hi, just wondering if anybody has some guidance on this ,

I currently receive LWCRA and High rate pip

I am moving in with my friend and her mum, so all 3 of us will be on the tenancy agreement, how does this work with housing element? Are they going to think me and my friend are partners?

Hi @bozooo, I know you placed this in the Housing category but I have moved it over to our Universal Credit category as I think you will be more likely to get this question answered here!

No, they won't think that if you're not living together as a couple. Many people how share as single people. Are you privately renting or social housing?

the 3 of us will be living together and all 3 of us will be on the tenancy agreement, they both work full time so will I still receive all my UC payments plus housing element? Or will I receive some reductions?
    it’s all very confusing

    Thanks

You will not be entitled to the full amount yourself because there's 2 other people on the tenancy agreement. You will each be responsible for 1 third of the rent. You will be entitled to the 1 bedroom rate of Local housing allowance. (LHA) Or all of your share of the rent will be paid, whichever is lower.

okay thanks, I was just worried that UC would reduce my payments because of the income of the other 2 people

No, that will not happen because income from other members of the house is not taken into consideration for your UC entitlement.

Your tenancy agreement and they may also ask for something with your address on.
