does anyone on here have recent experience of new PIP claim and how long it took from sending off?
I know every case will be different but just a general idea

From many other threads it could be anything up to 6 months, sometimes longer.

I applied on behalf of my son in September last year, and he was awarded this week. It was a transfer from dla but classed as a new claim.
The first part of the application was relatively quick, but we had a 6week wait for an actual decisions after a paper based review, so the delay seems to be with dwp rather than assessments. That's in my area though, now the assessments are outsourced I presume wait times vary across the country.
