LBC Radio + mental health
does anyone listen to LBC ? I listened to it all the time but can’t anymore because every presenter is constantly talking about getting the disabled back to work especially the ones with mental health issues

I used to find it soothing hearing people talking coz made me feel less alone - I tried talk radio but even worse and nasty presenters. I’ll have to find another way

Nick Ferrari the absolute worst and the others not to far behind . Everywhere you look / listen / turns these days it’s all about getting people back to work , I’m sick and tired of it

Unfortunately this is exactly what governments want to do “ throw the claimant to the wolves with no support “ they fail to understand that forcing someone into work especially if they have serious MH issues could set them back massively and in the end could potentially cost much more ( hospital admissions etc ) .
having support and a safety net would make a big difference but unfortunately as I’ve had first hand experience of work coaches this isn’t the case .
all I hear is that ‘ works helps MH conditions , getting out and having a routine helps’ , well it has to be the right type of work and something the claimant can manage - this is absolutely vital.1
