Feeling deflated and trapped.

I'm mid needs AuDHD with chronic pain syndrome (in receipt LCWRA + PIP), my partner works (from home) full time. I got my undergrad degree in August, and have been looking for remote masters degrees to give myself a better chance of finding a suitable job. Discussed with UC, got told that they'd deduct more than I even get each month, even if someone (family) paid my tuition for me, so I can't do a MA. I feel so deflated, all I wanted was to better my chances and get out of the system eventually instead of feeling trapped at home with a bleak outlook on my future.
I'm safe and have a therapist so my mental health is somewhat in-check, I just feel crushed that the one thing I wanted to do both out of interest and as an opportunity to better myself has been taken away from me.

Hey @bongo4, I know it can be difficult with the costs of tuition and living together. Universal Credit usually deducts everything when it comes to student finance. Have you already looked at the Master's Loan system from Student Finance England if you are in England? Master's Loan: Overview - GOV.UK You are also still eligible for Disabled Student's Allowance when studying a Master's course.

Thanks for your reply Jimm :) I had DSA for my undergrad and all it really was (for me) was reimbursed printing costs. The masters loan would wipe out my UC entitlement, despite initially being told that being in receipt of LCWRA and PIP would not wipe it out and would lower the deductions. Thank you 😊
