Just feeling so low

Well short background, colorectal cancer diagnosis 2023 surgery, chemo & now in remission, ongoing issues ever since, currently waiting for appointments with gynae, neurologist for head, neck & spine (2 referrals) 1 urgent advised 10 months wait. Just be diagnosed with type 2 diabetes & high cholesterol.

I'm just in so much pain all the time, currently on oramorph 4 times a day & gabapantin 3 x a day. I take another 14 medicines every day for all my other conditions.

There seems to be no end in site & it's getting harder each day to carry on... I woke this morning totally ready to meet my maker!!!

I cannot see any of this getting better.

It’s really hard to deal with it all and it can and is often totally overwhelming- I await my lasted blood results after treatment for high risk prostate cancer - gruelling and the side effects seem to be ongoing whether or not the treatment has been successful- sometimes I wake up and am just where you are now … sometimes there are days that seem better and sometimes worse - all I can say is I empathise and know a little of where you are and there are many of us even though it may seem and feel you’re alone. The delays and lack of medical support are really not ok and just make our journey all the worse

    Thinking of you

Thank you I've sent emails this afternoon. I have 3 referrals at present. 1 I have no idea of waiting time.

An urgent one that has Nov as it's date.

& An non urgent with 23+ weeks as an approximate time.

    So we wait & see.

Hi @hmass01 I am so sorry you are feeling low. It is quite understandable with everything you have going on.

Do you have any support at all from family and friends or do you have anyone you can talk with about all you are going through?

Have you spoken to your GP about how overwhelmed you are feeling? he is there to help you.

    Please take care of yourself.

There is always someone on the forum to chat to.

I have spoken to my GP & surgery nurse who both are quite dismissive of my plight I arranged therapy for myself, which they gave me 6 weeks of. I don't like to burden my family too much they have lives of own, to be getting on with.

Hi @hmass01, I'm sorry to hear about the pain and everything else you are having to deal with. Can I ask if you are getting any care, help or support at home and elsewhere? Just trying to think of things that could make your day to day living a little easier. Please do look out for an email from the Scope team!

Deep up the good work - I usually make an appoitment with myself to phone once q week, and ask politely if there are

any cancellations. Make a joke, and sometimes they remember you and "keep" a cancellation for you.

Unfortunately when dealing with my hospital they just become very obstinate if you call regularly.

    Hi @Kerry2024

You can start your own thread by clicking New Post and then select New Discussion from the drop down menu. If you use a laptop it is usually on the top right hand side of the page in a dark purple box with white letters.

If that doesn't work and you're still having difficulties, please let me know and i'll see if I can help fix it!

    Hi Mary

    Thankyou.

    Unfortunately it's still not working.

I go to the home page using my phone, click on the 3 lines in left hand side corner where but doesn't say anything about creating new posts.

    Thanks again πŸ‘
