No support worker yet

The first person I met last week said they cannot help me. I am going to meet another care provider next week.
Let's hope they can. I have been trying to sort something for two months now.
I don't like being told I am managing better than I think. I am assessed as needing five hours of support a week, I am not getting it. So over this time frame, that's starting to impact on my mh.
Social services offered to put in support before I moved. It's looking like that probably won't happen. I assume the support follows me to the new address as it's not far. But, it might change what's being arranged.

I'm sure you're doing this already but if social services have offered to put in support before you move, do phone them or contact them some other way & ask about that again just for that peace of mind.
I hope you find a good care provider.
I had a couple of them but I didn't have much choice over which companies.0 -
Hi @whistles sorry to hear about your first meeting. I'm really hopeful next week goes better for you. Please keep us updated on how your doing, and reach out if it starts to take more of a toll on your MH.
Best wishes,

It won't happen as I am being introduced to someone a week before I move.
I have been trying to get support since January. I didn't know things really were this slow.

Oh no, sorry to hear this. I hope you get this the week before you move then. Fingers crossed. Yes, very slow! All the best & I hope it all gets sorted.

I am being introduced to someone the week before I move. It's not the start date, just introducing to the team.
I have to say I feel like I am being messed about.

Well they got their wires crossed and the appointment was canceled.

Sorry to hear that @whistles, have they given you any alternatives or next steps to try?

I was asleep when they called.
I am getting ready to move, I don't have the time or the energy to be meeting new people, it should all have been in place already.
Then they were going to carry on that support.

Oh @whistles I'm so sorry to hear this - It's been a lot of pushing you back. I hope the move goes ok for you.

I hope the next care provider actually listens and gets things sorted for you. You deserve the support you’ve been assessed for.

I had the assessment in January. I am meeting a care provider tomorrow. Let's hope this one can help and I get the support I am eligible for.
Thankfully I have given up the direct payment and finding someone isn't my responsibility.

Hope all goes well at your meeting today @whistles.

The meeting went well.
I will have support starting possibly next week.

That's great news @whistles I'm so pleased for you! 😄

It's a starting point.
They haven't sorted the hours as such. But it will be good to have regular support.

Oh thank goodness!
I hope you have this support now!0 -
I have support but it's clear that the hours aren't going to be enough for what I actually need.
I had to get someone else to help me with the forms as they needed to be filled in. The "we will carry on from where we got to" doesn't happen as it would stop me going shopping if we had to cut into that time slot.
Currently they are trying to fit two activities into a session and it's too intense and leaves me shattered.
