Voluntary work and esa

Does anyone do voluntary work and get esa? What are the rules?

Hopeless

I used to (stopped due to lockdown). I only did 2 mornings a week. For the 1st couple of years DWP asked for a letter from my voluntary place confirming that I was a volunteer and not paid but later they didn’t bother. The things I did at my placement didn’t contradict my answers to the WCA or PIP assessments so all was fine

did rules mean you needed a mentor and to tell Dwp days and times of work?

I didn’t have a mentor though my voluntary work was classed as therapeutic. Yes, I told them the days and times I worked
