Help with Lwclwa

Hi, I'm sorry I don't even know if they are the right letters!. Over the last 12 months my health has deteriorated rapidly. I am now in receipt of PIP and rarely leave the house. I am on UC but I am a carer for my son and also recieve carers allowance AND element. I have declared all my health conditions to UC although I have never handed in a fit note and have not asked to be on any LWC due to the carer status. However, as time is passing I am deteriorating even more and I am getting to the point where I don't know whether to ask about being put into lclwa. Would I have to start from scratch by putting fit notes in now? How does it work? I can't believe I am concedering this but I am getting to the point where I am struggling to care for my son at all.
Thanks

Yes you would have to start at the beginning, by submitting a Fit Note and writing on your Journal that you need a Work Capability Assessment (putting the note under Payment so it reaches the case manager).
After providing the Fit Note, on day 29 you should be sent a UC50 form. You will then have an assessment.
It's really important to provide Fit Notes throughout the process, with no gaps ir breaks.
If found to have LCWRA, the Carers Element will end.
