I'm not sure regarding UC & carers we are not entitled to council tax support as although my partner gets the carer element of UC for looking after me, he earns too much.
Try
The worst they can say is no.
A lot of it depends on your councils rules, some are much more accommodating than others. My council sucks!!!

My council is rubbish too. For me to get council tax reduction we have to have a room adjusted especially for me. So if we were able to afford a house with 2 bathrooms and got one made into a wet room I’d get a discount, but as I’ve got a smaller house with one bathroom with bath chair, step, etc doesn’t count. Make it make sense.

I am on UC and carers allowance and I get a large reduction on my council tax but not the full amount. Just fill out the application it's worth it .
