Hi @Qasimo sorry you've not had a response yet. Is it a council tax discount or band reduction you've enquired about?

I have hearing loss and claim PIP. I also receive a Council Tax discount (likely 25%). My house has no modifications, and the Council Tax discount is based only on my PIP claim. Every year, I complete a form that I receive from the council.
You can get a Council Tax reduction for a disability even if you do not claim PIP. You must get a letter from your GP explaining your difficulties and give this letter to the office that deals with Council Tax. They can award you a discount even if you do not claim PIP and your house has no modifications.

Council Tax Discounts are set nationally.
Council Tax Reduction is decided on at a local level, with each local authority having different rules.
