Hi, my name is Penjim! Would my son be eligible for carers allowance? Would my pension be affected?

I am getting Attendance Allowance and State Pension I am struggling to cope with managing to cope with everything my Son lives with me and is unemployed he is an Adult would I be eligible to have him as my Carer and and would he be able to claim Carers Allowance if so would my pension be affected as it is over £82 and by how much...I Thank you

Yes your son can care for you as that is what attendance allowance is designed for but I don't know if he can claim carers allowance.
I think you are expected to pay for care yourself.

Yes your son can claim Carers Allowance and no it won't affect your state pension.
Your son can also look at applying for Universal Credit. As your carer he wouldn't have any work commitments.
If eligible he can get Standard Allowance & Carers Element.
His Carers Allowance would be deducted in full from his UC award.

Your son would need to make claims for both Carers Allowance & Universal Credit.
