April rate increases

Can someone please help me. I'm currently migrating over to uc from esa and housing benefit.

My deadline is 18th April. But I was planning to do it on 19th March, mostly just to get it done and because I get paid on the 18th March. But, I know the rates for esa go up on 9th April. So am I better to wait to apply on the 16th April (again a day after my pay day) because this will include the new April rates and they'll have to match that when taking into account transistornal protection?

The benefit rises are very small this year.

Is that amount of money worth to you delaying the application?

As I know it's causing you some worry and anxiety.

I think I have worked it out correctly, if I have them I believe it will be a extra £213 a year if I wait.

As it will go up from £240.55 per week to £244.65 per week.

Also if I claim on the 15th April, the day I get esa, then I'll still get my usual payment if esa on 29th April (because that wound be my 2 week run on), it's that correct.

Once again, thank you for your help.

Starting UC on the same day can cause problems with the run on. We are currently recommending starting UC the day after an ESA payment, based on recent experiences.
