First UC Statement and CA deduction
Hi all,
I have just nervously migrated over to UC from years on income based ESA, after a DWP letter prompted me to last month. I am still in receipt of Carer's allowance (for looking after my mum who suffers from severe schizophrenia) and PIP. I was aware that UC would knock off my Carer's allowance from my entitlement. However, the UC statement said they knocked off £354 for Carer's allowance but I only get £327 a month for that. Was this an error in their part or am I simply not getting it? Regards.

There isn't an error.
Carers Allowance is a weekly benefit and there are 4.3 weeks in a month.
UC is a monthly benefit so the deduction is for a months worth of CA.
To convert a weekly benefit to monthly, you multiply by 52 then divide by 12.

I think they do the sums different one does your entitlement by 52 weeks and one does it by 12 months weird in know why not do the same way
