New medical condition while on pip

hi there I suffer with PTSD and been on pip about 4 years now My award runs out in September and awaiting a new review ( pending the government) in the last few months I’ve been diagnosed with neuropathy in my feet and hands, it’s very painful and very sore on my feet, I was going to put all my new symptoms on the next form they send out ( gov pending ). as it is classed as a new review but read I’d have to report the change to pip ? Straightaway and a new form will be sent out And just wondered what would be best ?? Ps ) I’ve normally had my new form by now have they changed the way they do this ? ie) online etc ?
many thanks if you can help ! Thank u ☺️

Hi @Pollycasper
That sounds very painful, I hope you are okay and managing to find some relief. You can call the PIP enquiry line at 0800 121 4433 or use the textphone service at 0800 121 4493 to report a new condition.

Hi,
If you already have Enhanced rates then there is nothing to be gained by telling PIP about your new conditions.
If you currently have lower rates and believe you would now qualify for Enhanced, then I would recommend making a Change of Circumstances with PIP immediately. The reason for this is that any increase would be backdated to the point that you start the CoC. Whereas increases after reviews are not always backdated, the decision maker uses their discretion on whether to backdate those or not.

If you already have Enhanced for both there is absolutely no need to inform them of worsening conditions. You already have the maximum possible award.
