Hello, after a year of stress, the husband finally received the LCWRA. The Uc50 questionnaire was sent on May 10, 2024. They sent him to the DWP without a medical assessment on the grounds that he arrived late. For 8 months, phone calls and messages to UC and the same answer: It is with a decision-maker. On January 22, 2025, we managed to contact a counselor and after 2 hours, we received a message in the diary that the UC50 questionnaire had been sent again for a medical evaluation. I called them and they confirmed that they had received the questionnaire, I sent new evidence and a date was set for an evaluation. The first time they said they wanted to be face to face but my husband had mobility problems so I asked them to come home. They changed it to a video call evaluation. On March 6, he had the evaluation which they changed to a phone call and which only lasted 20 minutes. They said they had enough evidence and they just wanted to check if anything had changed in the meantime. Coincidence or not, on March 12th, I received a message in the diary that they need to verify our right to UC. I sent photo ID and bank statements from the last 4 months. Yesterday they sent another message that if the husband does not send, they will close UC. I sent statements again and left a message that I sent 2 times. It seems like they are looking for reasons. But today the good news was received by LCWRA. We had no undeclared income or other hidden things and we have nothing to worry about, but it seemed suspicious to me that this verification would come together with the decision that we have been waiting for so long. I would like to ask you to help me with the calculation of the money that we should receive later. I applied for UC on January 29, 2024. The first apt note on February 6, 2024. Apt notes have been sent continuously without any interruption. The UC payment date is the 5th of every month. I have worked full time without interruption since we have UC. Do I have to ask them to calculate the work allowance? Will it be calculated from when I receive UC or from when my husband has LCWRA? Please help me with these answers.

Your post was difficult for me to read without paragraphs.

The financial reviews are happening to millions of claims, it's likely to be a coincidence timing wise.

You do not need to request they calculate the work allowance, they will do this anyway.

LCWRA element has a waiting period of three full assessment periods. No money is paid or subsequently owed for that period.

(I'm not sure if the waiting period applies to the work allowance as well).

My estimate of your timeline for LCWRA element is:

January/February: Partial Assessment Period, not included for LCWRA waiting period.

    February/March: AP 1

    March/April: AP 2

    April/May: AP 3

    May/June: Eligible for LCWRA element

5th July: First LCWRA element paid.

I calculate you are owed 9 months LCWRA element.

Assuming the decision and/or processing time isn't done in time for your next statement, UC would owe you 10 months LCWRA element.

Plus money owed for the work allowance.

Money owed is calculated and paid separately. This usually takes at least a few weeks.

You'll know when this has been done as a letter will be added to your Journal stating the amount owed. Payment will arrive several working days later.

Benefit backpay is disregarded from calculation of your capital for one year.
