Back payment from DWP
Hii all I've just had a back payment letter today confirming the amount UC are going to pay me from 07/22 till date can you tell me will this payment be classed as captial or savings as its near the £6000 mark?

Capital and savings are treated as the same thing by UC. I think that this will be treated as an arrears of benefit and be disregarded for 12 months.

Benefit backpay is disregarded for 12 months. After 12 months anything left will count as capital.

Thank you both im not sure if it's the right place to ask butt with this payment can I put it in one towards a bew bathroom and new windows or will I get in trouble as my windows are old and loosing heat and my bathroom is leaking water downstairs and moldy or will I get in trouble for using the funds quickly?

It's disregarded for 12 months, you can spend it on what you like. Keep receipts if you're concerned.
