Good day, I got a large payout from universal credit recently for disabled element back dated.
my question is This payment come from universal credit and the decision maker said it's okay to pay this amount, do we still need to inform universal credit or do they already know.. as it is a large amount. it's what should have been paid at the beginning. So it was their mistake and not mine. It's money that was owing to me.
Hope this makes sense. Thank you kindly

Hi @lee1952 sorry you've not had a response to this. Any backdated payment is ignored for the first year so as long as your savings are under the £16,000 by the end of the first year, you should be fine.
Best wishes,
