Hi, my name is gemmaM! If I was to update my pip diagnosis would they consider me for hrc and hrm?

hi, I’ve just started to care for my 2 grandsons due to my daughter having ill health. My eldest grandson is 5 and I am in receipt of middle rate care dla for him due to him being autistic and awaiting a adhd assessment. His care needs have drastically changed especially on a night time. I’ve made dla aware. I suffer with mental health and I get standard care pip for my mental health, also have ptsd, arthritis and I was misdiagnosed with Sciatica since 2013 which they’ve now diagnosed me with Meralgia paresthetica and they’ve said because it’s been misdiagnosed and not been treated all these years there isn’t much they can do for me. I suffer really bad with it and have done all these years. I can lay on my right side nor my back or I have excruciating pain. It’s constantly numb and painful but if I lay on the sides I’ve stated it literally feels like my full length of my thighs from hip to knee is being ripped off. If I was to update my pip diagnosis would they consider me for hrc and hrm? I have a car which is a 3 door and I really struggle with getting my grandson in and out as sometimes he needs to be carried. He had to have an emergency MRI scan 2 weeks ago aswel as November last year and they’re found something on his spine, (he sometimes collapses and can’t walk at all due to this) we’re waiting to see specialists regarding this. Hopefully it isn’t anything sinister I pray. Any advice would be appreciated thank you

If you are below state pension age then you can have your full PIP award reassessed.

If you are above SPA, Mobility is frozen you can only have Daily Living reassessed.

hi. Thank you for your replies. Yea I’m 41. I’ve been on the phone to pip this morning and they’re reassessing me aswel as sending out mobility forms out. Thank you everyone. I am not very good with wording things. Do I have to word everything right or can I just put the symptoms and how long I’ve had it etc? Sorry for seeming daft I’m not a very confident person.

Any reassessment is treated as a fresh look at your claim.

Therefore I'd strongly recommend seeking help from a local welfare rights organisation to fill out the forms as fully as possible.
