Hi, my name is ROOdMusic! Issues with housing and gas charges, any advice?
My Landlord when signing the Tenancy changed the advertised price of the Rent.. I said it didn't look right but was told if I don't sign it I can't get the keys and as I'd been camped in the car waiting for two weeks and my dog was due to have puppies which happened two days after moving in,I signed under duress.. also the boiler was condemned by an engineer so I had landlord get gas capped but until I had a new boiler and central heating fitted I had no idea British gas was ment to do it and I've racked up over £1000 in charges.. what is my position and what if anything can I do about compensation from the landlord who has subsequently evicting me through county court.
Thanks

welcome to the forum unfortunately I don't know much about housing but I would like to recommend the coffee lounge for a general chat or the games den for some fun

I would recommend speaking to Shelter or Citizens Advice.

Hi @ROOdMusic, welcome to the community. Sorry you're going through this, it sounds so stressful. It sounds like quite a complicated issue and you may need to take some legal advice from some housing professionals. As Kimi87 suggested, Citizens Advice might be a good place to start to see if they can suggest anything:
You could also try looking for a local housing advisor:
Or Shelter may also be able to help:
Housing advice from Shelter - Shelter England
Hope you're able to get something sorted soon.
