LCWRA Back Pay Awarded. UC Deducted from it?
I uploaded a fit note 5th October 2023. In my journal it said 'provide new fit note completed' on the 10th Oct 2023. I don't know if that's relevant.
At some point I was sent a WCA booklet. I filled it in and sent it back. Didn't hear anything for months. Then I was told I'd have to fill out another one since they couldn't find the one I already submitted. The 2nd booklet submission led to a phone assessment on Feb 27th 2025.
I have since been awarded LCWRA. Today I have been told this in my 'we owe you some money' pdf in my journal: "We've decided you're entitled to £11,131 from Jan 5th 2024 to 4th March 2025. This is because of a backdated award of LCWRA. Your entitlement has been recalculated taking this change into account.
We've already paid you Universal Credit of £5409 from 5th Jan 2024 to 4th March 2025.
We owe you £5722. This is the amount left after taking away the UC we've already paid you."
Does this make sense? I'm confused about why my regular UC payments have been deducted from the LCWRA back pay I was entitled to.
Thanks.

LCWRA is about £416 per month. You should have received standard UC + LCWRA for the 14 months period which equals £11,131. Because of the delayed decision, they only paid you the standard rate £5409 and now they're giving you the difference: £5722.

I feel ditsy. Thanks so much for clarifying! Feel pumped about this financial bump. It's timely.
