Wonder if anyone has had this before?

Hi I am having to stay with my partner due to health, I've never officially been allowed to move in as adult social care have said its not safe, I'm on the housing register but it's taking years to find a disability property, I've let uc know I'm staying with him, that im looking for a propertt and the address, I've explained everything and it's all in my communication with them, I claim no housing benefit or council tax help, we haven't done a joined claim or claimed any carers allowance, i want to move and we plan to join together when we move but we are in limbo atm, I don't know if I need to do all this cause they said no but didn't think it would all take this long, just wondering if anyone has any advice please.

hi and welcome to the forum my name is Jaide and unfortunately I can't recommend anything to do with benefits but what I can do is recommend the coffee lounge for a general chat and the games den for some fun

Hi @mgrant you don't need to have a fixed address to make a claim for UC so it's definitely worth looking into. You can do this using a friends address, of even your local job centres address.
If you wanted to talk through what your options might be, I've added a few links to organisations that help with this.
- Check what benefits you can get - Citizens Advice
- Find out what welfare benefits you are entitled to, and where to get help if you have a problem with your claim | Advicelocal
Best wishes,
