hi after some advice please my partner is on contributory esa and we both receive enhanced pip would my partner be able to stop claiming esa so she can claim carers allowance for me without it affecting her side of pip
Hope this is helpful but My sis in law claims carers for her hubby and they refused her PIP saying she was well enough to care for husband.
I would look into it a bit more.
You need to spend at least 35 hours a week caring for someone. This can include:
I'm curious why she would want to do that?
As others have said, there could be a conflict between her claim for PIP and her claiming to be able to provide 35 hours of care on a regular, reliable, and safe basis.
That said, from the various fora I read, it does seem to be a common situation where a couple both claim PIP and also claim CA for each other.
I suspect those situations will be under much more scrutiny in future.
I am sure it will effect your esa, because if your well enough to become a carer, I would look more into this, before applying
HI @Erick
I could look into more first carer allowance isn't that much money financially you might be better both stay on ESA
