care assesment

can anyone tell me what happens at a care assesment for mental health. what help could i get and instead of careers could i request a personal assistant so its the same person each time i see them. i dont think a career would work as it will be different people coming and im not good with strangers.

I had one recently. The same problem with people coming in out.
It was decided a pa would be better. Problem you are then a employer responsible for tax and holiday sick pay. I can't process information and need someone to help my finances. And unable to responsible as an employer due to my hidden and cognitive hidden disability and constraints.
The council can pay them direct for they are low on funding to pay someone
It was decided that the cmht would do this from sychological aspect supporting and aiding to do the things I'm unable.
Everyone's case is different. Talk to the social worker. Explain your difficulties and see what is available, how it would work and your concern. The social worker appointed will be able to advise and access your needs under reasonable adjustments.
If a pa is an option or carers they will do a review of benefits and finances . You may have to pay towards this.
The soxial worker is the best one to answer as they will have the facts and knowledge of your medical and needs.

thanks theres no way i can cope with seeing different people and it changing. i wont be able to manage taxes and paying someone myself, so not sure what to do. the cmht are saying i need the assesment because they dont have the staff to fill the role. i need help with going out , getting regular meals, letters and benefit stuff, ordering my meds on time and that sort of stuff. maybe because i cant manage financies for a pa i wont get any help. thanks

If you need a referral your gp or cmht or consultant can refer you . I think you can ask for one yourself.
But don't worry about the process it's not as stressful or scary as it seems from my experience . And the social worker was lovely.
I wish you luck and get the yhe answers you need and the help you deserve 😊

There is a way to outsource the administration when paying for a Personal Assistant.

As I'm aware mh assessment are done by social services who are paid by council on cmht.
The council will pay directly if needed. My disabilities are more complicated and due to horrible event so more sychological.
Ask your care coordinator
