Long Term CFS sufferer & Practising Christian!

Hi everyone! Just wanted to ask if there are any practising Christians on here. Anyway, I've been ill with CFS/Fibromyalgia for around 25 years. It has wiped me out in so many ways. Can't commit to work, relationships, exercise and even cleaning the house. I'm either ok or I feel physically and sometimes mentally dreadful. Yet I am a longstanding practising Christian and believer in Jesus Christ. Now, I'm aware that faith and especially Christian faith can get people's backs up for some reason, and this is in my own personal experience. I'm not sure why. I'm just basically a working class bloke from a council estate background. I also write and am hoping to get involved in some kind of recovery ministry or bringing Christ to those who have lost hope because of the issues in their lives including of course long term ill health.

Anyway, I am happy to hear from anyone else for positive debate and dialogue over what I've written.

    Hi @Timbo_Guitar, you're right that faith can be a bit of a difficult subject for some, but I'm glad you've found comfort in your beliefs over the years.

    I'm sure there are some more Christian members around from what I remember. I hope they'll find your post soon so you can have a chat about things ☺️

    Thanks Rosie. I think it's good to see and understand too that disabled and long term ill health folk are all a mixed bag from all kinds of different backgrounds and walks of life. My rankle is that many people in this society, often the most desperate and in need, are punished further whilst the wealthiest and already affluent are given more. I find that not only unfair but unchristian as well.

    I am Christian too. I’m getting baptised in May.

    Nice! I got baptised last December. It was very cold! How does your faith impact your health? I know one of the biggest criticisms of God is that if He is a good God why does He allow suffering. I guess you've heard it. For us, we experience that dichotomy on a very personal level!
