Benefits unemployment pip ect

Hi to you all.
My husband has been out of work since last year August, so for 8 months now.
He cannot even get into work as for one, He has heart failure and recently=, he collapsed and needs to see a specialist due to his left knee, well behind the knee being badly damaged of tendons etc. He has a walking frame now and cannot drive anymore.
We have 2 years left on our mortgage so that';s going to be an immediate concern too.
I was working but due to my Autism and how it and my ADHD affects me in any workplace, I have been dismissed from work.
I have a husband to look after and I need help myself mentally a lot and cognitively.
Can anyone advise of what benefits can we claim or assistance that we can get please? Is it even possible to be accepted for car allowance if he helps me with speaking for me and i with some physical chores for him. Its like we are two persons but what i lack he has and whet he has i lack. I appreciate of any advice
Thanks

Hey there @CrowGirl53 and welcome. 😊
I'd be having a look at a benefits calculator, this should help you work out what you can apply for. Though it sounds like applying for PIP would be on the cards for sure.

Hi,
If you've got less than £16,000 savings between you then you can apply for Universal Credit as a joint claim.
If you have more than £16,000 between you then your husband should apply for New Style ESA on his own.
He should also apply for PIP.
You will not be able to access Carers Allowance (or Carers Element of UC) until he is awarded PIP daily living.
You may also be able to get Council Tax Reduction due to a low income. All local councils have their own rules for this though, so you need to check with your own council for this part.
