Help with UC claim
Hi, I have a sick note (fit note) from my doctor which states I am not fit to work, due to my disability.
However, I have applied for UC and they have told me that I must still look for work even though my sick note (fit note) states I am not able to look for nor am I fit for work.
Therefore, how do I get this point across to them as they seem to be ignoring it.
Therefore, how do I proceed with a UC claim?
Thanks.

Hey there @Robyn_21 and a warm welcome to the community. 😊
If you've provided a fit note from your GP, this would hopefully trigger a WCA (work capability assessment) which is what's needed to be marked as Limited capability for work related activities (LCWRA) which will mean you would not be required to look for work.

Unfortunately your GP Fit Note doesn't override the Universal Credit system.
To add to the advice, while undergoing the WCA process you are still treated as a job seeker (in the absence of a LCW/LCWRA decision), but work coaches do have discretion in terms of what they'll expect you to do in the meantime.
I'd strongly recommend you get help from a trained benefits advisor with filling in the form etc.
