Please can someone help me understand!

beginning of this year i got told that i had to transfer over to universal credit, which i have done. Since signing over i had to move due to family issues and my disability getting worse. Where i used to live my rent was £500 a month. My new property is a lot more which i was aware of. I receive my max that i can get in my area, but in my April 25 Universal credit payment they stopped my Transitional Payment which now makes me so much worse off than before! May question is because my housing budget has gone up can they stop my Transitional Payment, as not i don't even get half the amount of money i used to get on ESA before the switched me over!

    The answer is unfortunately yes.

Transitional Protection is added if your total UC award is lower than legacy benefits at the time of transfer.

    This erodes over time.

Because your Housing Element increased, it is correct that your TP reduced by the same amount.

Thank you so much, as i never got told this that's all, plus i got told as i had to do the transfer over as they sent me a letter with a deadline, that my payment would stay the same for a year! I've only been on Universal Credit since Jan this year! That's why im so shocked i got told that the money i should have left to pay my bills after my rent shouldn't be lower on Universal credits, to what i got on ESA but its almost half of what that was!

    Many thanks once again
