Pdsa aston birmingham if u are on benefits u don't have any chance..I registered with then 8 months ago I'm.on benefits..My kitten jules was promised on a number of occasions that I will receive a call back from the vet that never happened..why? Because the vet doesn't care about animals and she has a problem with people on benefits, or maybe its because I have a foreign name! I was born in England though..my cat had reaction to flea treatment, jumped from a two storey window had cuts and bruises yet this vet will not see jules… They don't deserve donations ,if people that donated knew the truth I'm sure they will think twice..The truth will soon come out.mark my words

Very Sorry to hear about your kitten.

However I don't think you can assume you weren't called back by the vet because of your name or because of benefits...pdsa was set up to help people on low incomes.

I know a vet in the North...a very caring woman. She said there are not enough vets now, it's a very long expensive training plus they are under huge pressure.

She also volunteers on a helpline for suicidal vets. Did you know there was such a thing? I didn't.

Perhaps you could call up again if you are still worried about your pet eg if the scratches look infected and you can't clean them yourself. Or if you suspect a broken bone? Though cats are very agile and tend to bounce back from falls.

    All the best, A

I hope you kitten is ok and has now seen a vet ?

The PDSA was set up to help low income families so I don't think it's because of benefits. As for having a foreign name, vets don't care about that, there priorities are for sick animals.

Vets are busy if its cut and bruises you might not be urgent while it may look horrific to a pet parent? Make sure you call them or go down and they might be able to assess better. I was told with my pup to go home by 'private' vet and i was told he had behaviour issues and go home. I knew my pup wasn't well and few hours later i rushed him for emergency operation. They make mistakes so go on your instinct you might have to pay for an emergency appointment out of hours and then try get funding? Appointments can be like £150+ just to be seen but its worth it. You can get overdraft for this.

That’s abusing the animal care system. Sorry little off topic but people who take a freebie when theres others worse off boils my pee! I hope your cat gets seen too couldn’t bear to think

Thanks everyone jules has been taken to a rescue centre and I've put in a formal complaint to pdsa..What gets me is that the vet has lied on multiple occasions..just be real and honest.
