Some weeks ago I got a text by company called maximus saying they doing my reassessment on behalf of DWP.

Yesterday I got call by DWP, my mum answered saying I was in bed ill so they'd call tomorrow. This morning I got a text saying i have telephone reassessment on 22nd May. So I guess they won't be calling today as I need to know where to be.

Is this normal they doing telephone reassessments. What can I expect in the call, what do I need to have with me etc.

Regards

    Thanks, I guess it's same with maximus I've seen their site.

    Just wondering why DWP called yesterday and not the company doing the reassessment.. i always have phone off as can't do cold calls.

    They gave me a link to their website it said they usually do telephone reassessment but if can't get sufficient details they may bring me in for ftf so what extra things would I need to prevent this.. I have a letter from my GP asking for telephone and her describing my condition, should I tell the assessor this etc ?

    Thanks

    Also i wonder if it i good to call dwp about asking why i'd prefer a paper reassessment over a phone one. My anxiety is terrible on the phone, i hate talking on the phone as i can never get over what i want to say i get brain fog.

    I did not have a phone assessment but I have found this from another benefits website:-

    You can request a paper assessment but you cannot require it, your best way to avoid the call is to have your GP, assuming they are willing, write to the Assessment Provider telling them that such an interactive assessment would be detrimental to your health and would cause you "overwhelming psychological distress".

    I can't help anymore as I have no experience of what to do in your case. Mine were face to face, years ago and a different assessment company.

    Reading your other posts, you could call the DWP and ask why they called. You could then mention you have an assessment and prefer a paper based due to your condition. See what is said. Save you worrying about it all too. Try not to worry and stay calm and hopefully you will get your paper based!

    @Trevor_PIP Hi & thanks

    My Gp wrote me a letter telling about my situation & that a face to face wouldn't be good for me as i can't do unfamiliar places, that's where i score on daily living. I now have her letter & they've given me a telephone appointment.. I thought i'd get a form to fill in then i could send the letter.

    Yes i will call & ask for a paper based tomorrow. The telephone call is not until the 22nd so i have time. When i write i put everything down that i need to whereas on the phone my mind just freezes and don't get everything across.. I think they called me to tell me my reassessment date but i'm unsure why as the company doing it did it the next day.

    Many thanks to you

    Hi

    I have a telephone reassessment on 22 done by a company called maximus on 22nd. Can I request a paper reassessment and if so do I call them or DWP as it says on their website they only do face to face, video call or telephone.. I forget & get anxious on telephone. They've tried to call today but answer phone is always on as i hate cold calls.

    You would need to ask Maximus, you've nothing to lose by trying but paper assessments are quite rare and they don't have to say yes.

    Hi Kimi & thanks. I will give them a try. I guess they would the contact DWP & ask them to send form out as usually they are from there.. There are a few people on here that have had paper reassessment so i guess it's different for everyone.

    Kimi is correct you need to contact the assessment company to request a paper based assessment. As I posted it would be good from your GP, if not give your reasons why you prefer the paper based. You will have filled out the PIP Review form - Award review - "how your disability affects you" form and sent in your evidence already. This will be used.

    Hi

    @Trevor_PIP and @Kimi87

    I called maximus, well my dad did and they said the review paper I filled in last year was the paper now as they need more information, can't understand why as I filled it in thoroughly so I guess I'll have to cope with that. The person I talked to was helpful and put it down in notes that I struggle with the telephone.

    I have a letter from my Dr that I can send before my reassessment appointment.

    I'll have my dad and phone on loudspeaker.
