MP Response

I wrote to my MP regarding the proposed benefit cuts. Because of our family make up and situation, if the cuts go ahead we could end up not just without income, but homeless too, simply because of knock on effects.
99.9% of the response was copy and paste and how the Government want to help people get back into work, even though my email went into detail as to why none of us could work either due to disabilities, health or being a carer.
However, she did state at the beginning she had forwarded the email to Liz Kendall - Is this the norm? Not that I expect it to be read or make any difference.

Hi @onlymeagain, thanks for writing to your MP. Although everyone seems to be getting pretty standard templates back it does help keep the pressure on and let them know how many of their constituents are worried about the cuts.
I'd be interested to hear from other members about whether their MPs are forwarding on the messages to Liz Kendall too. I'd imagine her inbox is pretty busy right now!
