Universal Credit and private pension

hi
This is my first time of posting for advice and I wonder if anyone could help with a question I have please.
I am likely to be out of work in January next year and due to my MS, I’ll be unlikely to find other work.
I will apply for universal credit to help my finances but my question is when I reach 55 in April next year could I use small lump sums from my private pension to pay some of my bills annually without affecting my UC payment?
thanks very much

The lump sums would immediately be classed as capital.
If you still had under £6000 then this wouldn't be a problem.

I’m finding things a bit of a minefield for advice.
