WCA Phone call

in Universal Credit (UC)

I have been sending fitnotes in to UC since September last year. I have my WCA tomorrow by telephone. I successful, do you think I will get any back paid. It sure has been a long wait for this assessment, and then maybe another two months before I get a response from them??

    LCWRA has a waiting period of three full assessment periods, from the date the first Fit Note was handed in. No money is paid or subsequently owed for that period.

    It does assume Fit Notes have been provided to UC without breaks, gaps any that were backdated.

    From what you've written some backpay may well be due.

    Official timescales following the WCA are 12 weeks. Some people hear within days, others wait a few months.

    Once you get the decision letter, UC then need time to fully process the decision.

    Backpay is calculated separately and this usually takes several weeks at least. You'll know this has been done as a letter will be added to your Journal stating the amount owed. Payment will then be paid within a few working days.
