can someone give me some advice I’m currently receiving the higher rate of ESA I get £489.30 every two weeks I also get the higher rate of pip included in my ESA is disability premium. I’m currently living at my ‘s house. I’ve been here for over 20 years but I’m having to move out because of disability issues. I had a housing assessment done a few months ago and they said I need a ground floor or level access property I was band with my local housing and they called me earlier today saying that they have a one bedroom bungalow for concern is how do I pay the rent and council I don’t have any savings. I just received the money that I’ve already mentioned to pay the rent. Do I housing benefit? Do I claim ESA with the housing element of universal credit or would I need to go fully onto universal credit and element as well? Also how do I claim for help with paying the council

yes you can claim rent and council tax too. if you need help go to the citizens advice or ask a friend to help you fill in the forms.

You would need to make a new claim for Universal Credit to get Housing Element to pay the rent.
Citizens Advice have a Help to Claim service, they can support you before during and after your claim.
Council Tax Reduction is done via your local authority.
