i have just migrated from esa support group

    to universal credit lcwra group

i had my my identity appointment this morning with a very nice guy who was very helpful

i have very serious health issues that are well documented with the dwp which is why im in this group.

i havent been abroad for over ten years but was considering a month in turkey or so

but there is a lot of fearmongering online so am now worried in case i need to access my account while abroad ie using the security code on my phone

from what i can see is that people in my category can travel up to a month with out needing to notify the dwp and there are no limits to how many times in th eyear

if someone could clarify this for me if would be helpful

my health is very poor at the moment which is quite apparent by my appearance which is the reason the guy was so helpful this morning but i could do with a break without all the worry

i have an auto immune disease

    thank for you help

    damien

Hi @butterflypeter - & welcome to the community, Damien. Some time abroad sounds like a great idea!

You are correct in that you can leave the UK for up to a month without it affecting your UC claim. The day you depart the UK & the date you return don't count. There should be no problem as you are in the LCWRA group &, as you have no work committments, there'd be no reason to access your journal whilst away, which might flag up you are out of the country (when you don't need to inform the DWP unless you're away for over a month)

A month isn't defined in the regulations, but I believe is usually considered 30 days. Please see section 11-1a & b(i) : https://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukdsi/2013/9780111531938/regulation/11

Hi @butterflypeter, looks like Chiarieds has already answered your question, but I just wanted to pop in and say hello and welcome. Hope you're able to get away as planned, it's always nice to have a change of scene somewhere warm ☺️
