Income related and contribute based esa

I first received benefits in 2017 income related esa. For some reason my tax year from dwp says contribution based esa. Is this right.

I thought contributions wax paid by dwp whilst on esa sdp . Am I right

You can be on Contributions Based ESA with an Income Related top up.

The Enhanced Disability Premium & Severe Disability Premium are both Income Related ESA.

I'd you were on income related ESA that is different from contribution based ESA. However they also brought in a "New style Esa" which looks different. Best to check with Citizens Advice Bureau....

I have been on benefits since 2017 it's only this year in April my tax year letter from esa says contribution based. I'm in the midst of transferring over to uc with migration letter. So confused

The ESA letters are very confusing in general.

You are on both Income Related and Contributions Based ESA.

Sorry kimi I was never on contribution based only income related . As I have always been in a support group and sdp I thought dwp paid NI contribution.

Or is there an error on there behalf or am I getting things confused . Sorry I struggle and having difficulty processing information.

You can be paid both CB & IR ESA if in the Support Group.

Have you ever received a P60 in the post, usually around May each year?

Basically on them all p60 say e500 then from 2022, all p60s 3 numbers have been put before e500 on 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025 on p60

As you have received a P60 you have been getting both CB and IR ESA.

Many people only find out what their ESA award was made up of after migration 🙂

I think you are getting confused with National Insurance Contributions which is a separate thing to Contributions Based ESA.
