PIP review timeframe

Hi I currently have a PIP award until mid July. It was extended during COVID. I filled in my review last October. I am in a constant state of anxiety because I have no idea what will happen. I imagine they could extend again or send a really last minute review appointment or just renew my award. But I have no idea how this affects my current UC award or my partners CA. Will I be left in a last minute scramble to get everything sorted out? Does anyone know how long renewal reviews are taking?

My PIP was due to run out in January. I received a letter in December telling me it was extended and almost straight away got a text to say my review was complete! I’d returned my form in the previous March

My timeline: -
August 2024 - Received review form.
September 2024 - Sent them back.
December - 2024 Text saying the usual we still have your form etc.
February - 2025 Same text.
March 2025 - received a letter extending my award for 12 months, these are usually sent around 35 days before your award ends but can take up to 2 weeks to get to you.
May 2025 - Received a text to say my review had been completed (paper-based).
About a week or just over later I received a letter extending my award for 6 years and they had given me 4 points in something I'd disputed on the form (I had 8 points in something, they were removed in my previous review and the DWP only gave me 2 back when I appealed).
So in total it took around 8 months.

Thank you both for posting your experience. I'm glad they were both positive and you didn't have to go through phone calls. I'm still scared to hope that it will be straightforward for me.

Hopefully it all goes well for you!
I was worried about the same thing because my previous review was a bit of a disaster due to mistakes made by Capita and the DWP.

I am currently undergoing my review, even though my current award doesn't expire until August 2026.
They sent me the form in April and I completed it and sent it in.
They sent me the usual text a few days after receiving it and now its just a waiting game.

PIP review 14 months from returning form to final award.
Was sent to HAAS for a pointless assessment phone call as final decision made without even referring to assessment, based on form and evidence sent in March 24.
