I currently waiting on the phone for an agent .I started the call at 12.45 pm and its now 15.34 pm. The reason is i have been migrated from ESA to Universal credit. I have just received a notice in my journal that I have to inform ESA that I am now getting universal credit and for them to update records. as it will affect my payments. Surely this is something that the DWP should do

It's a poorly worded automated message, you don't need to inform them yourself.
ESA will already be aware as UC will ask them to confirm your previous award.
