Autism Initiatives NI

I have a meeting scheduled with them on either Monday or Tuesday. They said they'd help me with housing, and may assign a floating support worker. I have got to leave my current house "officially" on the 31st of July, but I really have until the 31st of August. I hope they can help. I'm getting desperate. I don't want to be in a hostel, my ASD can't handle loud noise or sensory overload, and it'll mean my beloved basil won't come with me. Any advice to hopefully relax me would be greatly appreciated. As a bonus, here's Basil.

Hi @Liam9529 awww Basil is adorable, thank you for sharing. I'm so sorry to hear of your situation. That's some positive news about your call today. It sounds like they've got the wheels in motion quickly for the meeting next week as well. Hopefully at this meeting next week you'll have more of an understanding of what's likely to happen. Can you try to distract yourself as much as possible in the meantime? Do you have a hobby or something that makes you happy you could spend sometime doing? 😊

I got the call yesterday. My autistic mind is overloaded and overwhelmed. But I reckon a Chinese will help lol. I'm still just so scared. Scared of losing my basil. Being in a hostel. Does anyone have any reassuring advice?

Thank you @Liam9529 for adding the 'bonus' that is your lovely Basil! When I click on the photo he looks as if he's looking at the statues' face on the left. Very cute and he has a really lovely coat.
I hope your meeting goes well on Monday or Tuesday and that they can provide some reassurance. I'd not heard of Autism Initiatives before but I can imagine they'll be a very useful and practical source of support to you.
I would definitely treat yourself and get a Chinese! It's difficult waiting but you've only got hopefully tomorrow to go until your meeting and having support put in place. Be kind to yourself in the meantime and take care. 🫂 to you and very warmest wishes.

Landlord was a nightmare today. My cat hasn't been back all day, Terrified.
He saw that I sliced my finger, and said "You'll live".
Let a TV drop on my back and was more concerned about the TV, When he kept making noise, I asked him to stop because it triggers my sensory overload, He just laughed.
I will be lodging my complaints with Autism Intitiave, tomorrow at 2pm. And with my GP on Wed. I will use this to get housing.

Best of luck for your meeting today @Liam9529. Sorry that your Landlord has been so dismissive of you, that's a horrible way to treat someone. And Basil is a beautiful cat, thanks for sharing a picture with us!

Update: landlord accidentally dropped a TV on my back, was more concerned about the TV than me, more or less called me a lazy dirty pig, and dismissed my autism. Also raged about me leaving a few shampoo bottles in the shower. Autism initiative went well, they're going to try to get me intimidation points, I doubt it'll work but you know.

I just realized I already told you all about the TV incident. I need to stop drinking!

Thank you @Liam9529 for updating us. It sounds like your meeting went well and I hope things progress well with the support from the Autism Initiatives for you. I hope that you get a good night's sleep, you've done well getting out and about to your meeting, especially after your day on Sunday! I hope that Basil's doing well too. Keep strong Liam and take care of yourself too 🫂.

Basil is utterly terrified but he's ok. Yeah I'm glad I could have the meeting. My sister said I should get a private rental. Easier said than done.
