Hi, my name is elmonds_1977! Worried about paying rent and bills once my children leave home

I've been a parent carer for my autistic kids for the past 20-odd years and am suddenly faced with them both leaving home at the same time, to go to supported living. Emotions and worries for them aside, I have no idea how I'm going to pay rent and bills in the coming months, until I find a job. This is what I came here for- advice, mainly. Thanks in advance for any help. El

Are you claiming any benefits at the moment? Turn2Us have a benefits calculator that might give you a good idea of anything you're eligible to claim:
They're not always accurate but they can at least help you see what might be possible.
I hope you'll enjoy your time on the community ☺️
