Hi i recieve new style esa in support group and get pip if my son who's is also on pip and he claims carers for me will my esa be affected he helps me with my needs,I don't claim carers for him

Hi @Ryanjoe96, welcome to the community. This shouldn't affect your ESA.
If your son is on an income-related benefit like Universal Credit, the Carer's Allowance is classed as income and might affect his payments. It would not affect his PIP as that is not means tested.

Hes not claiming benefits yet he's at college till end of week,when he's got to claim uc I'm his appointee for his pip and I think I need to be his appointee for uc ,he's been to drs today to get a fit note has he has cystic fibrosis and aniexty and he's struggling ,will him claiming carers affect my esa as I'm on new style esa in support group thanks

Him claiming Carers Allowance won't impact your ESA.
It will get deducted in full from his UC award so no financial gain to claiming.

Hi @Ryanjoe96, sorry to hear your son is struggling. Your ESA shouldn't be affected if he's claiming carer's allowance for caring for you.
