Change in circ/advance

hi im led to believe if u report a change in circs and uc is likely to go up you can have an advance? However what if it is likely to go down, for instance claiming carers allowance?

Hi,

You can check the advance amount at any time through the online portal. That will show exactly how much advance you can have.

thank you. Do I need to let uc know now I’ve put a claim in for carers or do I do that if and when it’s approved etc?

UC don't allow any changes to be made in advance. You can only tell them after the change has actually happened, so wait until it gets approved in this case.
