Has anyone changed PIP hearing from in person to video?

Just wondering if a PIP tribunal hearing can be changed from in person to video, and if so, how?

I have my PIP appeal hearing letter and it says I have to go to the courthouse in town. I am incredibly worried about this as I do not really go anywhere other than to my medical appointments (although phone or video is used as much as possible due to the challenges I experience). My GP wrote I would not be able to attend assessments face-to-face when I first claimed PIP/ESA (this is a reassessment: my reality and evidence submitted are inconsistent what the Capita assessor wrote, so I have appealed). However, it looks like the person who completed the appeal form on my behalf ticked the box to say I could attend in person!

Am I now in a position where everyone will assume I am miraculously now able to attend in person and the hearing go ahead at the courthouse whether I am there or not? Or is it possible to get it changed to video?

I think you need to call/contact the court asap, and get this arranged. But you should be able to do a video call and they should be set up for situations like this.

    Thanks you rubin16.

I am also wondering whether I need to provide evidence showing where the reasons DWP justified no award in their response to the appeal are incorrect?

One example: DWP have stated that I no longer need one of my medications, so am 'better'. Their reasoning: I had a medication stopped and was not taking a replacement at the time of the Capita nurse assessment. In reality the medication being stopped was not because I no longer had symptoms, but because I had an allergy to the medication initially prescribed: I had an upcoming appointment to have the checks needed to be able start a different medication (I did tell the Capita nurse that, but it isn't in her report).

A second example: when DWP state what number pages they look at to evidence their decision I notice there are pages with relevant evidence that I submitted that are not listed (e.g. I listed which professionals support me, but that isn't a page number listed as being considering when deciding how much support I have).
