hi I’ve just been transferred from esa to u c but what I don’t understand is why my benefits have been cut by more than half on esa I was being paid £450 every two weeks now I’m transferred to universal credit I’m only getting £248 every two weeks can anyone explain why there has been such a cut in my benefits when I was told they were protected when changing to u c

I don’t know I got transferred to universal credit and was promised my money wouldn’t change but it’s been cut over half I only get £248 a fortnight instead of £450 what I got previously from changing to uc I don’t understand how any of it works I had worked all my life until becoming paralysed in 2018
