Missed PIP Call

While ironically on the phone to the UC review people I had a missed call from PIP (which is currently under review) saying that he would call back in an hour and nothing to worry about. But they never did call back.
Will they write to me about whatever it was if they can't get through to me on the phone? I am concerned as my pip is currently under review.

Hi @Ray212, they'll often try again on the phone if they've missed you, so you might receive another call from them in the next few days.
If you're worried, you could try ringing the enquiry line to see if they can help shed some light on why they're calling you or whether there's anything you need to do. It may just be to clarify some things for your review, so hopefully they'll be in touch if they need to speak to you ☺️

Thanks, I just spent half hour in the queue and got cut off. I have started working now so can't really answer the phone tomorrow. So I will likely miss any call again and I don't have time to ring them again tomorrow.
Which is why I wondered if they will write for any info they may need if I couldn't get to the phone and speak to them.

So I got through to them at 5.20pm no less and they said there is nothing on my account about being called. I said my PIP claim was in review but they said there was nothing about anyone calling me.
Though it was the official 0800 number that rang me. Ironically I was on the phone to the UC review people at the time. They literally said they were calling from PIP and they would call back in an hour and it was nothing to worry about.
But of course I am worrying, due to things tomorrow I may not be able to answer their call tomorrow either so was wondering if I can't answer their call for any reason will they write to me asking for whatever info they need or will I be penalised in some way?

Does anyone know?

Hi @Ray212, you shouldn't be penalised in any way for not being able to answer the phone as they haven't called at an assigned time. If they'd made an appointment with you it might be different, but they've called at random.
I haven't heard that many people have received things in writing if they've missed calls, but other members might have different experiences. Hopefully they'll be in touch soon to let you know what it's about.

It is unlikely they will write yo you for more info.
They will ring you but they should text you an appointment.

They haven't called back and they don't have anything on their system :/

And still not heard anything. Why would they phone me, say they would call back within the hour and that it was nothing to worry about then not call and not hear anything again from them????

Hi just ring them and enquire why they didn't ring you and what is happening.

Already done that, they have no record of anyone ringing me. Even though it was the DWP number as I was on the phone having my UC review at the time and it was the same number that tried ringing and left the answerphone message

You can either ring them and request an update on your claim or wait for them to write to you with the decision.

Yes I can do that, but my post was mainly about them calling, not ringing back then not hearing anything again.

Well they have said they have no record of that call so all you can do if you want an update on your claim is ring them and request it or wait to receive the outcome.

I am not really bothered about an update to be honest and don't they text you to say they have made a decision? I haven't received that yet. What I was trying to get across, maybe badly was I just thought it odd that they would contact you then not hear anything from them

Same thing happened to me. I initially missed the call from PIP, and when I rang back, there was no record of the call. They eventually rang me back after a week or so, just to advise me that they were still waiting for my GP’s factual report and that no decision had been made yet

Was that for a pip review? It's just for me they had already extended the award by a year due to the backlog.

Yes they do text you before sending a decision letter to you.

Thank you
