Hi all, hope everyone is well. Just have a question quick question. My pip is under reveiw and sent off my forms last november. I have been getting texts saying they still have my pip form around every 3 months. This morning I received a txt message from the dwp saying I have a phone health assessment on Monday, which is only 3 days away. Is this normal? It said nothing about been from any health assessment provider or anything. I did not recieve any letter or anything, just that txt message. I just thought I would get more notice to prepare for the assessment.

That's not much notice at all @sunny101! I haven't heard many cases where it's been this close to the date but I'm sure it does happen sometimes.

Do you think you'll feel up to going ahead with it?

Hi @Rosie_Scope , thanks for the reply, and no I dont feel prepared at all, but I have no choice. I rang up and they said they sent a letter on the 22nd but I did not recieve it. All I got was the txt message they sent this morning. Also i sent 70 plus pages of information with my reveiw forms, would dwp have sent all this information to the assessment provider.

Hi @sunny101, sorry to hear that, that's really frustrating! The evidence and information you've sent in with your forms should be available to them as it all forms part of your claim.

Do you have any copies to hand that you could keep with you? Sometimes that can be helpful for the assessment. If not, just having a few notes about your conditions can be comforting if you're worried about remembering details. Hopefully it'll all go by quickly without too much more stress.

@Rosie_Scope , yeah its really frustrating, especially when i suffer with severe anxiety. And yes I took photos of eveything (70 pages) i sent them. I went into so much detail of eveything, i was hoping for a paper based assessment. Im not sure what else they could want to ask or clarify as I went into so much detail. I will just be making notes to have with me during the assessment. Do u know how long after the assessment a final decision will be made and whether pip will still be paid untill the decision is made?. Thank u

Hi @sunny101, that sounds like a good plan. The decisions can take a few weeks after the assessment, it can vary a lot from case to case. Some people find out really quickly and others might have to wait a while, so it's really difficult to say. But your normal PIP payments will stay the same until your new decision comes through.
