Choose - chronic constipation or chronic pain

These are currently my options - my shoulders are extremely painful - through arthritis

My bowels are affected by the codeine which I have been prescribed to help with the pain - 30mg Codeine - 4 times a day

no alternative painkillers are offered or will work (I tried liquid morphine but that caused nightmares and constipation)

Operations to replace shoulders are out of the question - because they would not recover because my other health issues affect them.

So my options are Constipation or chronic pain…
