PIP report
Hi, I’m new here. I had my pip review assessment on 10th August. I got my report back after it went into audit. On the Engaging with others face to face, I scored 9D rather than 9B I was originally scored for in my last report.
It says these words on other descriptor supported: whilst 9B is considered as given in last report, FH showing does not engage with unfamiliar people at all, even if they are from the mental health team, HOC showing sees mental health team, therefore 9D is appropriate. Although 9D and 9C is considered due to behaviour and mental health 9D has already been given due to OPD.
Can anyone explain exactly what this means in simple terms please? I get that I’ve been awarded a higher score for it, but it makes no sense to me. It seems to me, like they’re basically saying in my last report, I should’ve been scored 9D in the first place? Or am I thinking too much into it? Because I still have the same issue without any changes with that descriptor as I did in 2022 when I was first awarded PIP. It confuses me! The assessor is recommending enhanced daily living instead of the standard I was already receiving. Almost 4 weeks & still no decision, I know it can take up to 6, but it’s making my anxiety so bad! Especially not knowing whether it’d be backdated to when I send the forms back or not too! My review started on 30th September 2024!
Thanks in advance!

They aren’t saying that you should have been scored 9D on your last assessment. They are saying that they considered scoring you 9B as they did on the previous assessment but decided based on the evidence that they should score you 9D. If the impact of your condition on the descriptor is the same as it was at the previous assessment then the original score may have been incorrect but you can’t do anything about this now as you are too late to challenge that decision.
