Hi I've been sanctioned a few times and I've won 4 out of 5 of my appeals, back in 2023 I was sanctioned unlawfully and was left with no money over Christmas I appealed and finally in January 2024 when my appeal was heard I was back paid to a total of 1256 of which I received 986 because they took back the hardship payments I had no option but to apply for but did not make up the difference of what my monthly payments were and to this day I'm still repaying them also I'm in arrears for rent council tax which they also deduct and still are I'm left with £196. For the month and being on UC how am I or do I have to repay council tax and rent arrears which should of also been paid by UC as I always insist on my rent being paid directly to my landlord Travails instead of being paid to me for obvious reasons and even when you are sanctioned your rent is supposed to be still covered by DWP?

Hi @5ummers79 and welcome to the community. Really sorry to hear about your situation. It does sound quite complex, and sanctions tend to be unique, based on your situation and circumstances. It might be worth speaking to a benefits advisor about this as they'll be able to look through your paperwork and the sanctions and support from there. Both Turn2us and Citizens Advice offer an advisor service. I hope you're able to get to the bottom of this.
