Hi Folks

Are you aware of any books written by disabled individuals who managed to set up a successful business ?

Thanks

Hi @Manjinder, I'm not sure I've seen any specifically about business. But maybe there are some disability-related books that would still be enlightening?

Waterstones have a section for books on disability:

Maybe there's something in there that might be useful to you. Hopefully our members will have some ideas too.

This sounds like it would be an area that's under-represented in literature

There are plenty of folk from underrepresented or disadvantaged groups who are successful businesspeople, but with the mindset that tends to succeed in business I imagine they don't dwell on their limitations

Add to that the cutthroat nature of business and the requirement for "moral flexibility"! I can say from experience of a few businesspeople from groups who are perceived as disadvantaged but whom have managed to circumvent the social restrictions – I know for certain they relish the perception their group is disadvantaged, because it makes them stand out as exceptional!

I wonder if there are more books written about rather than by those businesspeople
