Left Knee Issues

I Have Cerebral Palsy, after 2 days of not doing physio my left knees achey and funny, added to that have been hospital for a while so suspect muscle atrophy. Thing is when transferring its like my left knee cant hold the weight and the pain gets worse as I lower myself. Any ideas?

Hi @wandering_chris, sorry you haven't had a reply to this yet, this sounds sore! Have you managed to speak to any of your medical team about what's going on?

Muscle atrophy happens over a long period of inactivity. It is possible that the muscles supporting the knee joint have become slightly stiffer.
It could also be an aspect of Post-Impairment Syndrome, which can affect people living with cerebral palsy as we age.
Please discuss the changes in your knee with your physio or neuro physio.

Hi @wandering_chris,
As Rich mentioned, it would be worth seeking some physiotherapy. They can help with movement and stretches, which our joints need.
I would also recommend getting referred to Pain Management .
